💐Slack Integration
Updated over a week ago

The Slack Integration allows you to seamlessly log your entries within Slack with a basic slash command. You'll also be able to view your I Done This entries within a dedicated, public Slack channel.

Setup Guide:

1. Simply log into your I Done This account and ensure that you're logged into Slack as well. You can log into your I Done This account here.

2. Navigate to the bottom left of the screen and select Integrations. On that page, select the button under Slack integration, "Add to I Done This"

3. Authorize and provide I Done This permission to post within the Slack channel.

4. Once authorized, you will be prompted to connect which I Done This team you want to connect your Slack channel when you're posting from Slack using the "/done" command, and the second row will prompt you on where your entries will be entered within the dedicated Slack public channel. Please ensure that you've chosen a channel that is public, and not archived or private!

Note** - You'll need to revisit step 4 twice if you want both features toggled on. (You need to click on both Add buttons to enable both features. We will be revisiting this later!)

How does it work?:

You can post your entries via Slack using the /done slash command. Whether you're directing messaging a person or posting within any slack channel, you can easily post your entries using the /done command. Simply type "/done" to prompt the Slack integration to post your entries. If you want to post your goals via Slack, you can type the /done command and add closed brackets right after. It would look like this: "/done []"

When you post your entries via I Done This, your entries will also be posted within the dedicated Slack Channel. Here's what it would look like on I Done This's end:

And on Slack's end:

NOTE: The color on the side of the entry within the Slack channel represents the type of entry: Green as a done, blue as a goal and red as blockers.

How do I remove the Slack integration?:

You can remove the Slack integration by going into your Account settings and removing the integration by selecting the remove button for the /done command,

and going into your team settings and removing the integration by selecting the remove button that moves your dones to the dedicated slack channel.
